How it works

Ink that becomes part of the fabric

Dye sublimation works differently from any other method. Your design is printed onto special transfer paper with sublimation inks. Under high heat and pressure, those inks turn into a gas and bond into the polyester fibers themselves. When the fabric cools, the color is locked inside.

Because the ink becomes part of the shirt instead of sitting on top, there's nothing to crack, peel or wash away, and you can't feel the print at all. The fabric stays just as soft, light and breathable as it was, which is exactly what you want in Southwest Florida heat.

The one rule: white or light polyester

Sublimation dye is transparent, so it only shows on white or light-colored polyester or high-poly blends. It won't work on cotton or dark fabrics. For those, we'll recommend screen printing or DTF.

What affects the price

Complete shirts start at $9 for short sleeve and $12 for long sleeve. There are no per-color fees, so a photo-quality design with dozens of colors costs the same as one color. Pricing is based on the garment style, the print area (a chest logo versus full-body coverage) and the quantity.

Three tips for vivid sublimation

Use light polyester

White and pale polyester give the brightest color. Darker or cotton garments won't take sublimation.

Go big with color

There's no charge per color, so gradients, photos and full-color art are fair game.

Send high-res art

300 dpi at full print size keeps all-over designs sharp. We can help build or resize your art.

Common questions

Dye sublimation FAQ

What fabrics work with dye sublimation?

Only white or light-colored 100% polyester or high-poly blends. Sublimation dye is transparent and bonds with polyester, so it won't work on cotton or dark fabrics.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, 6 pieces.

How long does sublimation take?

5–7 business days. Rush orders are available.

Do more colors cost more?

No. Sublimation has unlimited full color with no per-color fees.

Will the print crack or fade?

No. The ink becomes part of the fabric, so there's nothing on the surface to crack or peel, and you can't feel it.

Can you print the whole shirt?

Yes. We can print the front, back, sleeves or full-body coverage.
