How to Prepare Your Logo for Printing or Embroidery
The quality of your finished shirt starts with the file you send. A clean, high-quality logo means a sharper print, cleaner embroidery and a faster proof. Here's what works best.
Vector files are best
Vector files (.ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg) are built from shapes instead of pixels, so they scale to any size without getting blurry. If a designer made your logo, ask them for the vector version.
Convert fonts to outlines
If your file includes text, convert the fonts to outlines (sometimes called "curves") before sending. Otherwise, if we don't have your exact font, the text may change when we open the file.
For DTF and sublimation, send high resolution
Full-color designs should be a PNG at 300 dpi at the actual print size, ideally with a transparent background. A logo pulled from a website or social media is usually too small and will print blurry.
Know your colors
If your brand has specific colors, send the Pantone (PMS) numbers. For screen printing, each color is a separate screen, so simplifying to fewer colors can lower your price.
Only have a blurry JPG? Don't worry. We offer professional art preparation and can redraw or clean up your logo so it prints sharp.
Send it over
Email your file to sales@grandillusionapparel.com with your quantity and garment, and we'll take it from there.
